Drying Times
Concrete, driveways & walkways
Usually safe to walk on once the surface looks dry, often within a couple of hours in good weather. Wait 24 to 48 dry hours before applying any sealer.
Wood decks & fences
Let wood dry thoroughly, typically at least 48 hours of dry weather, before staining or sealing. Stain on wet wood won't soak in or last.
Roofs
Stay off the roof. Wet, treated roofs are extremely slippery, and walking on shingles can damage them.
What to Expect After Roof Cleaning
- Some dead moss may stay on the roof after treatment and wash off gradually with the next rains. That's normal.
- Check gutters and downspouts after the first few heavy rains, since loosened moss and debris wash into them.
- Keep an eye on landscaping below the roofline and rinse plants if you notice any residue.
Keeping Moss From Coming Back
- Let the sun in. Trim back branches shading your roof, deck, or driveway. Shade and moisture are what moss loves.
- Keep gutters clear so water drains off the roof instead of sitting.
- Blow or sweep fir needles and leaves off roofs, decks and walkways regularly.
- Improve drainage around patios and walkways that stay wet.
- Ask us about zinc or copper strips near the roof peak, a common Northwest moss deterrent.

Concrete & walkways
Once a year, usually late spring or summer, keeps most surfaces clean and safe.
Decks & fences
Clean every 1 to 2 years; reseal on your stain manufacturer's schedule.
Roofs
Every 1 to 3 years depending on shade and tree cover. North-facing and heavily shaded roofs need it more often.
